The 2020 edition of the Evergreen Grinder will again up the ante & continue to push the limits of what a gravel race can be with more trail time than previous editions, several water crossings, 3 course options, and no on-course support. More details and course previews to come. The Evergreen Grinder continues to be the hardest gravel adventure race on the west coast, and the only one like it.

Registration for this event has always been free, and will be free again this year. However, I would like to encourage participants this year to donate the equivalent of a race fee (~$60-$100) to a BIPOC led organization or initiative in the outdoor industry. Fostering diversity and inclusion in cycling is incredibly important; one way of doing that is by giving money to organizations dedicated to doing that work. If you need help identifying a group to support, please send me an email and I can help you come up with a list.

In addition to a more challenging race experience, 2020 participants will also register on BikeReg, which will allow them to register ahead of time for the course of their choice, as well as choose their gender category from the following options: non-binary, female, and male. This option allows space to be created for groups who are typically under represented in cycling, and is something that I view as positive and necessary to make gravel racing inclusive and accessible for more people.
